Terms of Use and Enrolment
1. Who you are contracting with
Referred to below as "Samkalp Coimbatore", "we" or "us".
Samkalp IAS Academy Coimbatore is the Tamil Nadu chapter of Samkalp IAS, New Delhi.
2. Using this website
You may read, print and share anything on this site for your own preparation. You may not republish our written material, our annotated syllabus, our test questions or our course materials commercially, or present them as your own work, without our written permission.
Everything on this site is provided for information. Examination rules, dates, syllabus and eligibility are set by the Union Public Service Commission and only the Commission's own notifications are authoritative — see the disclaimer.
3. Enrolling
An application is an offer to enrol. It becomes a contract when we confirm your place in a named batch in writing and your fee has been received. Until both have happened you are not enrolled and no place is held for you.
You must be legally capable of entering into a contract. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must enrol on your behalf and is responsible for the fee.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us, including your date of birth, category and number of attempts. We do not verify eligibility and it is not our responsibility to; see the disclaimer and the eligibility checker.
4. Fees
Fees are as published on the fees page at the time you enrol.
Refunds are governed by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. What enrolment gives you, and what it does not
Enrolment gives you a personal, non-transferable right to attend the sessions of your programme, to receive its materials, and to use the academic support it includes, for the duration of that programme.
Enrolment is not a guarantee of any examination outcome. No academy can offer one, and we do not. What we undertake is to deliver the programme as described.
Your place cannot be transferred to another person.
6. Course materials
All notes, recordings, test papers, model answers, annotated materials and question banks remain our intellectual property, or that of the person who wrote them. They are licensed to you personally, for your own preparation, for as long as you are enrolled.
You may not record a live class or a mock interview, share your login, upload materials to any file-sharing service or messaging group, sell them, or pass them to another candidate. Watermarking is applied to materials.
We will withdraw access, without refund, from any student who distributes our materials. This is the one sanction on this page that we apply without discretion, because the alternative is that everybody's fee pays for material that has been given away.
7. Conduct
We expect ordinary courtesy towards faculty, staff and other students, in the classroom and in online sessions. Harassment of any kind, disruption of a class, or conduct that puts others at risk will end your enrolment.
Online sessions:
8. Changes we may make
Timetables, faculty allocation, session order and delivery mode may change, and occasionally must. Where a change is material — a change of mode, a change to the total contact hours, or a change to the start or end date — we will tell every affected student in writing, in advance where we can. A change of an individual faculty member for a session is not a material change.
9. Circumstances beyond our control
We are not liable for failure to deliver a session caused by events outside our reasonable control, including public disorder, natural events, public health directions, and failure of power or telecommunications. Where a session is lost to such an event we will reschedule it or provide a recording.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, our total liability arising out of your enrolment is limited to the fee you paid for the programme concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any loss said to arise from an examination outcome.
11. Complaints
Tell us. Email info@samkalpias.in or call +91 95976 93209 and ask for the person named on this page as responsible for complaints. We will acknowledge within two working days and respond substantively within a set number of working days.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction.
