Events, Seminars and College Sessions

Three kinds of event, all listed here with the date, the speaker and the venue.

  • Public seminars: At Avinashi Road or at a venue in a nearby district. Usually two hours, usually free, and open to anybody.
  • Webinars: Run online so that aspirants in Erode, Salem, Pollachi, Tiruppur and the Nilgiris can attend without a day's travel. Recorded where the speaker consents.
  • College sessions: Run at the invitation of a department or a placement cell. Awareness sessions about the Civil Services Examination — eligibility, timeline, what the papers demand, and realistic final-year plans. Not recruitment presentations.

Past events

Every event we have run stays on this page after it has happened, with the date, the speaker, the attendance and, where we have them, photographs and the recording.

The archive is the point. Anybody can announce an event. The list of events an academy has actually held, with dates and attendance, is the only version of that claim worth reading — and it is the same discipline we apply to the batch calendar and the gallery.

Outside Coimbatore

We do not have premises in Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Pollachi or the Nilgiris, and we are not going to publish pages pretending otherwise. What we do instead is travel, and run online sessions timed for people who work.

If you are in one of those districts and would like a session near you, tell us — if enough people from one place ask, we will schedule one and it will appear on this page with a date on it.

For colleges in Tamil Nadu

If you run a department or a placement cell in Tamil Nadu and would like a civil services awareness session for your students, we run them free of charge.

We will reply within two working days with what we can offer and what we would need from you.

FAQs

Are your seminars free?
Each event listing states whether there is a fee. Sessions we run at colleges are free of charge.
Do I have to be a Samkalp student to attend?
No. Public seminars and webinars are open to anybody. College sessions are open to the students of the host institution.
Are events recorded?
Webinars are recorded where the speaker consents, and the recording is linked from the event listing afterwards. In-person seminars are usually not recorded.
Can you run a session at my college?
Yes. Use the request form on this page.
I am in Erode. Will you ever run something near me?
We travel for seminars when there is demand for one. Use the 'Ask for a session near you' form above and tell us where you are. Meanwhile, webinars are scheduled so that people outside Coimbatore can attend without travelling.
Will officers actually be present?
Where an event lists a former civil servant as the speaker, that person is confirmed at the time of listing. If a speaker has to withdraw, we update the listing and say so rather than quietly substituting somebody.
